Paymaster Services for Currency Transactions
When a large payment must be received and split among several beneficiaries, in the United States or abroad, an attorney paymaster provides a neutral account, verified parties and a full record of every transfer.
What we handle
We receive incoming wires in U.S. dollars and, by prior arrangement, other currencies, and pay out to each beneficiary according to your signed instructions. This is useful when a payment is shared among business partners, brokers or investors, or when the sender wants assurance that funds reach the right people.
Why careful handling matters
Large currency transfers draw close attention from banks under federal anti money laundering rules. Payments can be held if the bank cannot identify the sender, the recipients or the purpose of the transfer. We gather that information in advance, which helps prevent delays.
What we do not do
We are a law office, not a bank or money exchange. We do not trade currencies, set exchange rates or offer investment advice. Our role is to receive, hold and disburse funds as a neutral party under a written agreement.

Documents to prepare
- Contract: a copy of the contract, agreement or written instructions for how the money is to be paid out.
- Paymaster fee agreement: we send this to you after our first conversation.
- Identification: a driver's license or passport for each individual involved.
- Company records: for each business, its formation documents and the names of its owners and authorized signers.
- Tax forms: IRS Form W-9 for U.S. citizens, residents and companies; IRS Form W-8BEN (or W-8BEN-E for entities) for everyone else.
- Bank details for every beneficiary, in the beneficiary's own legal name.
We receive and send funds by bank wire only. We do not accept cash, checks or money orders.
